Bamboo shoulder poles are a popular agricultural tool used in the daily lives of the Vietnamese people, In the subconscious mind of the Vietnamese people, the image of the bamboo shoulder pole evokes the daily lives of traditional farmers—their joy and their sorrow—and especially the silent suffering, courage, tolerance and sacrifice of the wives, mothers and grandmothers of successive generations in the nation’s history and still used widely in Vietnam. Our lady is happy in her work but many woman have to carry heavy loads many miles from farm to market carrying these bamboo poles and many not so young. She’s tall,beautiful and elegant as she glides along with her load on her way to market she loves to dress up as all Vietnamese women do, which is why she’s wearing a red hat and red shoes and soft subtle colours.
