2 of a collection of 6 I love painting women, my women are all beautiful women don’t need faces or clothes to portray beauty. My women come in all shapes and sizes they could be from anywhere in the world. Beauty is a feeling, a glow inside that radiates out, I try to capture that glow with every brush stroke, I wanted Resting to look comfortable with lots of pleasing curves, a young attractive woman, exquisite and above all at ease with herself. Painted in brown, orange / ochre and a pale blue, she's deep in thought thinking about her life her past her future or just day dreaming, I’m drawn to women like this strong can take care of herself and deeply independent but loves the company of men, maybe that’s what she's thinking about. I always try to put something of myself in my paintings, in the form the colours the brush stokes, my feelings, my joy, sometimes my darkness but I hope mostly joy and happiness. In this collection of paintings I’m inspired by Vincent van Gogh with his bold use of colour his expressiveness, and I like to think I’m a little impulsive like him. All my paintings are on good quality canvases with as many coats of gesso as needed and the finest oils, I paint mainly with brushes but also use a palette knife a lot also my fingers when needed. My art is me, my paintings, wherever they go in the world, a part of me goes with them and I hope that comes out in my work.
