Egg lady making herself beautiful and looking at herself in the mirror checking to see she is perfect that the vivid orange-yellow yoke of the egg is good enough to eat.
Look for the meaning behind the painting, yes it may come across at first as humorous, quirky, flippant or clever, yet there is a deeper meaning we all have something dark we want to hide and the fried egg (free range) is a mask hiding something from her past she doesn't want to reveal.
When I was a kid at school we would have to take our lunch box to school as there was no kitchen or cooking facilities, when the dinner bell would ring we would all sit on the floor to eat our lunch. Almost every day I had a fried egg on rice, the other kids would say, Ta fried egg again you'll begin to start looking like a fried egg. I used to plead with my sister to have something different but we had a lot of chickens and a lot of eggs so it was always fried egg on rice, it was easy for her.
