A picture says a thousands words. Then what is the benefit of those thousands words?
It breaks it into a thousand pieces. And the picture is no more.
Close your mouth and let your eyes speak. Then your joy will increase and the picture of your life.

Maarten Tonneyck was born in 1954 in Amsterdam, where the arts blossomed and influenced him in composing music, perform theater and study at the State Academy of Fine Art. An academy of university level, that was pioneered by Piet Mondriaan and was a part of the international impressionism movement.

His father, Rene Pierre Tonneck, an accomplished painter, introduced him.

What was his state of mind that time?

A liar in a twisted world needs words. Paintings can't lie. It is always true beyond words for your eyes in honest display. This is the artist's relief.

Since his mother's country with Austria's mountains and forests was a big influence in his youth, it infused this deeply as nature talks clearer then a struggling human family.

One can be less lonely in a forest alone then in a crowded party Friday night.

Besides his birth home was besides Amsterdam's Zoo.

Imagine you walk into a forest and you don't hear any sounds. Not even the cracking under your feet? That is scary. In reality, we hear background music! Singing winds.

Trees whispering. Birds calling. Flowers dancing. A honest community that speaks wordless language ready to paint.

He is not satisfied until the painting is breathing this sense of life and energy. Breath in brush strokes.Etc.

Tonneyck started his American art journey with portraits for Chicago community leaders in the 1990's, and developed into landscape paintings. A resident of Hoffman Estates, he was a member of the Hoffman Estates Art League and Arts Commission.

Crabtree Forest Preserve in Palatine, received his first large landscape painting on permanent display. Had one men shows throughout the area.
