Artwork checkout
Artwork Purchase Terms
Effective July 27, 2026
These terms apply when a buyer purchases artwork through an artist website powered by ArtSala.
The artist is the seller
The artist identified at checkout is the seller and merchant responsible for the artwork, its description and authenticity, pricing, packing, shipping or collection, delivery communication, customer service, returns, refunds, taxes, and legal compliance. ArtSala supplies software that helps the artist present the work and create a Stripe checkout.
Payment
Stripe processes the payment as a direct charge on the artist’s connected Stripe account. The amount shown at checkout includes the artwork and any fixed shipping amount shown. ArtSala does not add or collect sales tax at launch. The artist remains responsible for determining and handling any tax obligation.
Shipping and returns
The seller’s shipping and return policies shown before payment are saved with the order. Those order-specific policies govern fulfillment and return arrangements. Contact the artist before paying if delivery timing, location, insurance, installation, condition, or return eligibility is unclear.
Refunds and disputes
The artist handles refund requests under the saved return policy and manages payment disputes through Stripe. A refunded artwork is not automatically made available for sale again; the artist must inspect and record its return first. ArtSala’s 30-day satisfaction guarantee is only for an artist’s software subscription and never applies to an artwork purchase.
Questions
Use the contact option on the artist’s website for questions about the artwork or order. Payment-card questions may also be handled through Stripe or the buyer’s card issuer.
